Schauenburg Analytics Ltd, through its subsidiary companies Markes International and SepSolve Analytical, has introduced the new Schauenburg Analytics Academy. The Academy is a training provider offering fully interactive online and classroom-based courses. The courses are hosted by Markes and SepSolve specialists from across our network of global locations, enabling scientists across the globe to access our applications and engineering expertise.

Our instructors

Senior Product Specialist

Stefan Koschinski

Stefan Koschinski joined Markes International in 2012 directly after finishing his PhD in wine research. He is an experienced analytical chemist with a focus on thermal desorption, gas chromatography, comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography, chemometrics and mass spectrometry. Over the past ten years, Stefan has trained many customers in the proper use of analytical equipment. He is now looking forward to sharing his knowledge and expertise with even more analysts as one of our instructors for the Schauenburg Analytics Academy. Stefan is a German speaker and will provide trainings in his native language as well as in English.

Anthony Buchanan

Anthony studied forensic science at Staffordshire University, and received a Masters in Analytical Toxicology from King’s College London in 2013. He then worked in the commercial laboratory sector, investigating extractables/leachables from polymers, and persistent organic pollutants in sediments and environmental water samples. In January 2018 he started work at SepSolve's laboratory facilities in Peterborough, UK, where he carries out method development, as well as assisting customers with product installations, method setup and training.

Market development manager

Caroline Widdowson

Caroline Widdowson is the Head of Market Development at Markes International. She manages a team of subject matter experts focusing on applications related to environmental monitoring, defence & forensics, chemical emissions from products and materials and chemical ecology. Caroline represents the UK as an active member of standardisation committees in ISO, CEN, BSi, ASTM, responsible for drafting harmonised methods on Ambient Air, Indoor & In-Vehicle Air Quality, Materials and Product testing. She holds a PhD in organic chemistry and earned her MBA while working at Markes.
